Five Interesting Facts about me: 1. While I grew up in rural Missouri, my IQ is 152 and that has influenced my life in many ways. In the Army, I was not sent to Viet Nam but rather attached to the Army Security Agency in Asmara, Eritrea presumably because they wanted to keep me alive. I lived there for a little over two years and it was one of the best and most wonderful experiences of my life, climbing to visit the Christian rock churches, especially Abuna Yemata Guh, and Axsum, where I came to the reputed site of the Arc of the Covenant brought back by the Queen of Sheba. 2. I know Classical Latin, Classical Greek, and Middle Egyptian hieroglyphics. I have taken some French and Spanish, but living in American without much practice, I'm not very good. I can mimic the accents of languages quite well, like a parrot, but I don't always know what I am saying, which has got me in trouble occasionally. 3. I acted in an outdoor melodrama in the Ozarks where I grew up. It was "The Shepherd of the Hills", and I (at age 20!!!) played a 70 year old Doctor from Chicago who comes to the Ozarks. I entered stage on a buckboard pulled by two horses clattering down a trail onto the outdoor "stage" when the right front wheel came off, the axle falling into the soft ground and burying itself, throwing me completely over the horses and landing on my back (a fall which would have killed a 70 year old man). I got up and "carried on" as you English say, without losing a beat. 4. I was a member of an exhibition ballroom dance group at age 14. We practiced "cotillion" because Springfield, Missouri, where I grew up, was very Southern and we did that. I also danced exhibition in a Square Dancing group, clogging blended with formations from a caller. 5. I sang with the Arlington Metropolitan Chorus in Arlington, VA, when I worked in the Pentagon. I also sang once as the lead with a Gospel Choir from Arlington Methodist Episcopal church.
